A 27-week court ordered program for men who have abused a female partner. This program is facilitated by 2 instructors, a man and a woman, who have received extensive training in the field of intimate partner violence. The program seeks to change the habits, behaviors, and thinking errors that abusive men have learned throughout their lives. Participants are required to complete an intake and pay fees. Please contact the TASA office for more details.
TASA also operates a Domestic Violence High Risk Team in conjunction with local law enforcement and the 46th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. The DVHRT reviews high risk cases of family violence and works to craft individual plans that will keep victims safe. Our DVHRT program is one of only a dozen funded in the State of Texas.
TASA helps victims prepare for a life free from violence through a number of free services. We offer advocacy, such as, safety planning and court accompaniment. Counseling through a licensed professional counselor and minimal financial assistance. Please call the TASA office for more information.
We are dedicated to taking an active role in our community to increase the awareness of family violence. If you are interested in us speaking to your group/organization, please call our office to schedule. Some topics include: the cycle of abuse, teen dating violence, “Cut it Out” training for cosmetologists, and an “In Her Shoes” simulation.
